The Executive Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. (Barr.) Oluyemisi Adenike Rosiji, has reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to enhancing the education sector as she declare open the Year 2025 Spelling Bee Competition Preliminary at the Council Secretariat. The event, which drew pupils from both primary and secondary schools across the LCDA, produced winners who will represent Ojokoro at the state level.
During her address at the opening ceremony, Hon. Rosiji emphasized that education is the bedrock of sustainable development. She assured that her administration would continue to implement innovative programs to foster excellence among children and announced that more education-focused initiatives would be unveiled in the coming months.
The Chairman expressed her appreciation to teachers for their dedication to shaping young minds, describing them as “silent builders of destinies.” She also commended parents for their unwavering support and encouragement.
In her charge to the contestants, Hon. Rosiji urged them to remain disciplined, work hard, and strive for excellence. She warned them against social vices such as truancy, cultism, and drug abuse, stressing that these distractions only lead to pain, regret, and wasted opportunities. She assured the pupils who will represent Ojokoro LCDA at the state level of her full support, expressing confidence that they would make the council proud.

– Winner: Miss Biobaku Oluwaferami (Ebenezer Primary School)
– 1st Runner-up: Miss Odeh Anabel (Vetland Primary School)
– 2nd Runner-up: Master Akinduro Ezekiel (Gbeleyi Primary School)
Secondary Category:
– Winner: Master Taiwo Daniel (Ijaiye-Ojokoro High School)
– 1st Runner-up: Miss Mustapha Victoria (Vetland Grammar School)
– 2nd Runner-up: Miss Ismail Royhannah
The winners were awarded prizes and medals and will go on to represent Ojokoro LCDA at the state level. The event concluded with cheers from pupils and teachers, celebrating their hard work and achievements.
In his closing remarks, the Head of Department for Education and Library Services, Mr. Tajudeen Quadri, thanked the Council Chairman for her unwavering support. He also commended the teachers and pupils for their participation and urged the winners to aim for the grand prize— “One day Governor”
