The Ojokoro Local Council Development Area (LCDA) is set to mark the first anniversary of the Hon. (Barr.) Oluyemisi Adenike Rosiji-led administration with a three-day programme of activities designed to celebrate achievements, promote inclusive governance and empower residents.
The anniversary, themed “One Year of Impact, Building a Prosperous Ojokoro,” will take place from Tuesday, September 8 to Thursday, September 10, 2026, with activities spanning governance, women participation in politics, infrastructure, empowerment and human capital development.
The three-day programme will commence on Tuesday, September 8, with a Symposium on the Role of Legislators in Grassroots Development and Governance, providing an avenue for stakeholders, political actors, community leaders and residents to examine the importance of effective representation and legislative participation in grassroots development.
On Wednesday, September 9, attention will shift to women and political participation with the Inauguration of Women in Politics, an initiative aimed at encouraging greater participation and representation of women in political and governance processes.
The celebration will reach its grand finale on Thursday, September 10, with a colourful programme featuring the commissioning of roads, massive empowerment and presentation of palliatives, as well as the graduation of students of the Ojokoro LCDA Vocational School.
The grand finale will also feature a Media Parley, providing an opportunity for journalists and media practitioners to interact with the Council Chairman and assess the administration’s journey, programmes, projects and achievements in its first year in office.
The anniversary celebration is expected to bring together government officials, traditional rulers, community development leaders, political stakeholders, youth and women groups, residents, members of the media and other well-wishers.
The Council invites residents and stakeholders across Ojokoro and beyond to join in celebrating a year of service, impact and renewed commitment to building a greater and more prosperous Ojokoro.
