The Executive Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area, Hon. Barr. Rosiji Oluyemisi Adenike, has urged residents to sustain the spirit of the monthly environmental sanitation exercise beyond the designated day, making cleanliness a daily habit across the LCDA.
Hon. Yemisi Rosiji made the call on Saturday, August 29, 2026, while leading the monthly sanitation exercise across Ojokoro, stressing that a clean and healthy environment should not be a once-a-month responsibility but a collective way of life.
Leading by example, the Chairman participated actively in the exercise, moving through various communities and engaging residents on the need to maintain clean surroundings, properly dispose of waste and take pride in their immediate environment.
She called on landlords, tenants, traders, business owners and community leaders to ensure that their streets, homes, shops and business premises remain clean at all times.
The exercise attracted wide participation from council officials, councillors, community and traditional leaders, CDAs and CDCs, traders, artisans, religious and youth groups, residents and security agencies, among others.
Rosiji Oluyemisi Adenike reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to environmental cleanliness, noting that a cleaner environment is essential to public health, community dignity and improved quality of life.
She said the real success of the sanitation exercise would be measured not only by what residents do on the designated day, but by their commitment to keeping Ojokoro clean every day.
“A cleaner Ojokoro is a shared responsibility,” she maintained.
