The Executive Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Barr. Oluyemisi Adenike Rosiji, has called on youths in the council area to channel their passion, creativity and energy in sports into active political participation and meaningful community development.
Hon. Rosiji made the call on Monday, August 31, 2026, when members and officials of Rosiji Football Club paid a courtesy visit to the Council Secretariat following the team’s advancement in the ongoing Head of Service (HOS) Cup 2026.
The visit was organised to appreciate the Chairman for her consistent support and encouragement towards the team’s participation in the competition, as well as her continued commitment to youth development across Ojokoro LCDA.
While commending the players for their impressive performance, the Chairman urged them to maintain their determination, discipline, teamwork and sportsmanship as they progress in the tournament.
She, however, encouraged the young footballers to look beyond the football pitch and apply the same passion, teamwork and determination they demonstrate in sports to politics, leadership and community development.

Hon. Rosiji further encouraged the youths to identify with and support the All Progressives Congress (APC), stressing that active participation in politics would provide them with opportunities to contribute to governance and influence positive development in their communities.
She noted that young people possess the energy, creativity and capacity needed to drive meaningful change, adding that they should not leave political participation and decision-making entirely to others.
The Chairman also reminded the players that true success extends beyond trophies and victories, emphasizing the importance of values such as unity, mutual respect, fairness, discipline and peaceful coexistence.
She assured Rosiji FC of her continued support and encouraged the team to remain focused, make the most of the HOS Cup as a platform to showcase their talents, build positive relationships and serve as an inspiration to other young people.
