Despite a heavy downpour on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, the atmosphere at Community Primary School, Bioyin, remained vibrant as the Executive Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area, Hon. (Barr.) Oluyemisi Adenike Rosiji, officially flagged off the Renewed Hope National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme (NHGSFP) under the “Adopt A School for Snacks 4 Thought – PBAT FEEDS!” initiative and unveiled the Adopt-a-School Dashboard.
The programme, which forms part of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, commenced with the distribution of nutritious snacks to pupils of public primary schools in Ojokoro LCDA. The initiative is aimed at improving the health, nutrition, and academic performance of schoolchildren while easing the financial burden on parents and promoting a more conducive learning environment.
Delivering her address, Hon. Rosiji expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for introducing the laudable initiative, describing it as a practical intervention that addresses hunger among schoolchildren while encouraging better learning outcomes.
She noted that the programme is designed to reduce the challenges faced by pupils, give every child a sense of belonging, and create an enabling environment for quality education. The Council Chairman also appealed to private organisations, corporate bodies, philanthropists, and non-governmental organisations to partner with government in supporting the initiative, stressing that investing in children is an investment in the future of the nation.
The Council boss reaffirmed her administration’s unwavering commitment to the welfare, education, and overall development of every child in Ojokoro LCDA, emphasizing that no child should be denied quality education because of hunger.
Speaking at the event, Alhaja Nurat Omotayo Atoba, who represented the National Programme Director of the Adopt-a-School for Snacks 4 Thought Initiative, Dr. Princess Ademi, stressed the importance of the programme in promoting child welfare and educational development. She called on well-meaning individuals, corporate organisations, and non-governmental organisations to support the initiative to ensure its sustainability and expand its impact across communities.
On behalf of the beneficiaries, Miss Semilore Adigun expressed heartfelt appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for extending the programme to pupils across the country. She also offered prayers for Nigeria, asking God to grant the nation lasting peace, progress, and prosperity.
The colourful ceremony attracted government officials, education stakeholders, traditional and community leaders, teachers, parents, and other invited guests, who commended both the Federal Government and Ojokoro LCDA for implementing an initiative that prioritises the well-being and educational advancement of children.
