It was a day of excitement and celebration on Monday, November 10th, 2025, as the Executive Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area, Hon. (Barr.) Oluyemisi Adenike Rosiji, commenced the disbursement of the ₦100 Million Relief and Empowerment Package for residents of the council area, marking a major highlight of her administration’s first 100 days in office.
The event, held at the council secretariat, attracted a large crowd of residents, party chieftains, community leaders, and dignitaries who trooped out to witness the distribution of the ₦100,000 cash support to beneficiaries carefully selected from across the seven wards of the LCDA.
In her address, Hon. Yemisi Rosiji explained that the Cash Relief and Empowerment initiative was conceived to provide further relief to residents, adding that as a government that truly cares, her administration will continue to prioritize the welfare of the people.
“As a government that listens and cares, we have designed this ₦100 Million Relief Package to provide direct financial assistance to our residents. This is an ongoing exercise that will run for months, ensuring that every deserving resident benefits from this initiative,” she said.
Also 150 graduates of the Council’s School of Vocational Studies including their instructors were also empowered with cash to buy the needed tools and gadget to commence their trade.
“We are turning skills into livelihoods and empowering our youths to become self-reliant and employers of labour. This is part of our Renewed Hope Agenda to build a productive and prosperous Ojokoro,” she added.
Earlier in her opening remarks, the Council Manager, Mrs. Akinola Mojisola, congratulated the Chairman for her remarkable achievements within her first 100 days in office, describing her as a passionate and result-oriented leader. She commended Hon. Rosiji’s zeal to deliver meaningful projects and impactful programmes that directly improve the lives of the people.
Delivering his goodwill message, Hon. James Owolabi, former Member of the House of Representatives, described the Council Chairman as “a round peg in a round hole,” noting that her wealth of experience in the Civil Service and her previous role as Acting Chairman are now reflected in her purposeful leadership and commitment to service delivery.
In the same vein, the CDC Chairman, Barr. Alabi, represented by the Vice Chairman, Alhaji Ismail Adeyemi, lauded the administration for the empowerment initiative targeted at both the vocational school graduands and elderly residents. He praised the Council Manager for her strong support of the Chairman and urged beneficiaries to make judicious use of the funds received.
Before the commencement of the empowerment exercise, Hon. Rosiji flagged off an Immunization Campaign at the Iwa Primary Health Centre, where she encouraged parents to present their children aged 0 to 5 for vaccination. She noted that the exercise was part of the State Government’s collaborative effort with local councils to prevent and eradicate viral diseases from the State.
The event was graced by several dignitaries, including Hon. James Owolabi, Hon. Tunde Oyekunle (The Vice Chairman of the council) Leader of the House Hon Usman Ipaye and other Legislators of the Council.
Hon. Ademiloye, Mr. Adebayo Salvador, Management staff, APC party chieftains, and numerous residents who came to celebrate the achievements of the Rosiji-led administration.
The ₦100 Million Relief and Empowerment Package, according to the Council Chairman, marks just the beginning of a long-term plan to deliver inclusive governance and people-oriented programmes, signaling a new era of Renewed Hope and tangible service delivery in Ojokoro LCDA.
