In line with her unwavering commitment to promoting cleanliness in Ojokoro Local Council Development Area and its environs, the Executive Chairman of Ojokoro LCDA, Hon. (Barr.) Oluyemisi Adenike Rosiji, has inaugurated a Joint Action on Waste Management Committee to oversee and manage waste activities within the council area.
The initiative marks another significant step in the Local Government’s continue effort to ensure a cleaner Lagos and a healthier Ojokoro community.
In her remarks, Hon. Rosiji emphasized the importance of cleanliness as an act of godliness, noting that a clean environment promotes healthy living and helps both individuals and government prevent the outbreak of pandemics.
The Director of Integrated Waste Management Services LAWMA, Mr. Alao O. J., highlighted the potential of “wealth from waste,” explaining that every form of waste can become a resource if properly managed.
Also speaking, the Director of Environmental Services Ojokoro LCDA, Mrs. Falade Idayat, explained that the establishment of the committee aims to enhance waste management and serve as an advocacy group for environmental sanitation within Ojokoro LCDA.
The Committee Chairman, Alhaji Abayomi Sheu Ishola- Lemomu, pledged on behalf of the members to work diligently and support the LCDA in achieving a cleaner and healthier Ojokoro.
Certificates of office were presented to all members of the committee.
