The Executive Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. (Barr.) Adenike Oluyemisi Rosiji, has called for collaborative efforts in governance to drive development in the council area. She made the call on Thursday, September 4, 2025, while welcoming stakeholders to a constituency meeting hosted by Hon. Olotu Emmanuel, the representative of Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency II at the Lagos State House of Assembly.
In her welcome address, Hon. Rosiji emphasized the importance of participatory democracy and collective responsibility in governance. She expressed gratitude to Hon. Olotu for his consistent engagement with constituents and commitment to bringing governance closer to the people. The chairman encouraged stakeholders to contribute constructively to the discussions, noting that their input is crucial to the growth and prosperity of the community.
The meeting, which brought together distinguished leaders, traditional rulers, party leaders, members of the legislative council and the people of Ifako- Ijaiye Constituency II, is part of efforts to assess progress and chart a way forward for the development of Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency 02. Hon. Rosiji assured that Ojokoro LCDA remains committed to good governance, grassroots development, and collaboration with all relevant stakeholders for the benefit of the people.
Delivering the speech of the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, Hon. Olotu Emmanuel highlighted the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. Obasa noted that the agenda has led to significant progress in economic reforms, infrastructure development, security, and digital transformation. He commended Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for his innovative governance and infrastructural projects in Lagos State.
The Speaker emphasized the importance of collaborative governance, citing the passage of over 467 resolutions by the Lagos State House of Assembly as a testament to its active role in governance. He assured that the House remains committed to raising the standards of legislative excellence and positioning Lagos State as a beacon of good governance.
The event, which took place simultaneously across the 40 constituencies in Lagos State, gave constituents the opportunity to participate in the law-making process, sharing ideas, needs, and challenges for onward legislation.
