The Council Secretariat of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Lagos, was filled with renewed enthusiasm as the newly elected Executive Chairman, Hon( Barr.) Oluyemisi Adenike Rosiji, held her maiden familiarization meeting with the management and staff on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.
The meeting, which took place at the Council Hall, served as a vital platform for the Chairman to formally interact with heads of departments, senior officers, and the entire workforce, signaling the beginning of a focused and people-driven administration.
In her address, Hon.(Barr) Oluyemisi Rosiji expressed heartfelt appreciation to the staff for their dedication and hard work:
“Your daily efforts, often unnoticed are the backbone of service delivery to our people. Thank you.”
She emphasized that her administration will be guided by the principles of vision, discipline, teamwork, and excellence, and outlined five strategic pillars that will shape her leadership including:
– A renewed vision for service, focused on improving the lives of residents
– Staff welfare and capacity building, recognizing the importance of a motivated and well-equipped workforce
– Discipline and ethical conduct, with zero tolerance for indiscipline and lack of accountability
– Open-door leadership, encouraging progressive ideas, feedback, and constructive criticism
– A collective mandate to deliver excellence and compassion in service delivery
The Chairman also reaffirmed her sincere commitment to staff welfare, pledging to review the remuneration of temporary staff in light of the current economic realities and skyrocketing cost of living.
She gave special assurance on improved welfare for physically challenged personnel, reinforcing her administration’s stance on inclusivity.
In addition, Hon. Rosiji encouraged civil servants to actively exercise their civic rights and responsibly participate in the political process, stressing the importance of being informed and involved in shaping society through democratic engagement. She urged the staff to encourage their family members to participate in the Continuous Voters registration to commence on 18th of August.
Earlier, the Council Manager, Mrs. Mojisola Abeni Akinola, the number one civil servants in Ojokoro LCDA, with a great Joy, congratulated Barr. Oluyemisi Rosiji and her entourage, for the victory won in the just concluded election, and officially presented the entire staff into her leadership, expressing strong confidence and trusting God for a cordial, impactful, and smooth operation throughout her administration.
The Branch Chairman of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employee (NULGE) Come. Olaoti Jamiu highlighted the efforts of the staff during election to ensure the chairman’s victory and he solicited for robout staff welfare.
The meeting ended on a high note with a renewed atmosphere of unity, commitment, and anticipation as staff pledged their support to the new leadership and looked forward to a vibrant and productive era for Ojokoro LCDA.
