The Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Local Government Administration, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development has given the administration of the Executive Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area, Hon. (Barr.) Oluyemisi Adenike Rosiji, a glowing assessment, applauding her remarkable performance and describing her as “Mrs. Project” after inspecting developmental projects executed within her first 11 months in office.
The commendation came on Wednesday during the committee’s official oversight visit to the council, where members embarked on an extensive inspection of completed and ongoing projects across Ojokoro LCDA to assess their quality, impact and value to residents.
Led by the Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Ganiyu Sanni Okanlawon, the lawmakers toured key project sites before proceeding to a multimedia presentation showcasing the council’s numerous developmental interventions and achievements.
The inspection and presentation left the committee visibly impressed, with members commending the Executive Chairman for what they described as an outstanding performance within such a short period in office. They noted that the pace of development across Ojokoro LCDA reflects visionary leadership, prudent management of public resources and a genuine commitment to improving the living standards of the people.
Among the major projects highlighted were the construction of 22 landmark infrastructural projects, comprising 12 roads and 7 drainage networks, all designed to improve connectivity, ease traffic movement and tackle flooding in communities across the council area. The committee also acknowledged the administration’s investment in human capital development through free ICT and vocational training for youths, empowerment programmes for widows, senior citizens and other vulnerable groups, free healthcare initiatives, as well as the enrolment of 1,000 families into the Ilera Eko Health Insurance Scheme. Other impactful community development projects executed by the administration were equally applauded.
Speaking during the engagement, members of the committee showered encomiums on Hon. Rosiji, describing her as “Mrs. Project” and remarking that she had performed wonders within just 11 months in office. They encouraged the council to sustain the momentum by maintaining its focus on projects that directly impact the lives of residents.
To further strengthen governance and service delivery, the committee offered several recommendations. These included the timely completion of the ongoing Michael Akinloye Street project, strengthening collaboration among councillors, supervisors and management staff through continuous capacity-building programmes, installing additional CCTV cameras at strategic locations within the council secretariat to enhance security, expanding vocational and skills acquisition programmes, and continuing to provide start-up support for beneficiaries of empowerment initiatives to promote sustainable livelihoods.
Responding, the Executive Chairman, Hon. (Barr.) Oluyemisi Adenike Rosiji, who had fielded several questions and responded to extensive scrutiny from members of the committee during the presentation of her administration’s scorecard, expressed profound appreciation for the visit, the commendation and the valuable recommendations.
She reaffirmed her administration’s unwavering commitment to delivering more people-oriented projects that will continue to improve the quality of life of residents, deepen grassroots development and complement the developmental vision of the Lagos State Government.
Hon. Rosiji further assured the lawmakers that their recommendations would receive due consideration as her administration remains steadfast in promoting transparency, accountability, inclusive governance and sustainable development.
The oversight visit ended on a highly commendatory note, with members of the committee expressing satisfaction with the pace of development across Ojokoro LCDA and encouraging the Executive Chairman to sustain the impressive performance that has earned her widespread recognition.
