The Executive Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area, Hon. (Barr.) Oluyemisi Adenike Rosiji, on Tuesday, March 17, presented Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) forms to deserving students across the council area as part of efforts to promote access to education and support academic advancement among youths.
The programme, held at the council hall, demonstrated the administration’s commitment to initiatives that promote education and deliver meaningful benefits to the people and the community.
In her address, Hon. Yemisi Rosiji described education as the a powerful tool for building lives and unlocking human potential in a rapidly changing world. She noted that the initiative is aimed at equipping students with the knowledge and skills necessary for self-reliance and future success.
According to her, the programme was designed to ease the financial burden on parents while creating opportunities for young people to pursue their academic dreams.
She emphasized that no child should be denied access to education due to financial constraints.
Hon. Rosiji further stated that the initiative aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which places strong emphasis on education and youth development as key drivers of national growth and progress.
She encouraged the students to remain positively engaged and avoid social vices, urging all beneficiaries to take full advantage of the opportunity by staying focused and striving for excellence in their academic pursuits.
In her opening remarks, the Council Manager, Mrs. Akinola Mojisola, encouraged the beneficiaries to maximize the opportunity provided. She noted that the coaching programme organized alongside the initiative was specifically designed to ensure their success in the JAMB examination. She urged the students to study diligently, revise consistently, and prepare thoroughly.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Master Naheem Oluwatobiloba expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Chairman for the opportunity and for organizing the coaching programme. He commended the tutor’s dedication and described the Chairman as not only a leader but also a mentor, assuring her that the beneficiaries would make her proud through their success.
Similarly, Miss Aishat AbdulYekeen expressed profound gratitude, describing the Chairman as a mother figure whose care and support have greatly encouraged the students. She assured that the beneficiaries would justify the confidence reposed in them through outstanding academic performance.
Also speaking at the event, the Supervisor for Education and Library Services, Hon. Busari Nasiru, advised the students to manage their time effectively and remain disciplined in their studies. To further motivate them, he pledged to reward any student who scores 280 and above in the JAMB examination with his one month’s salary, as an incentive for academic excellence.
