Ojokoro Local Council Development Area witnessed a significant milestone today as Council Chairman, Barr. (Hon.) Oluyemisi #Rosiji, swore in the newly elected Councillors into office commencing the 6th legislative house of the LCDA.

In her address, Barr. Rosiji emphasized the crucial role of councilors in shaping policies and direction, urging them to be diligent, responsive, and accountable to the people who elected them. “Your role is crucial in shaping the policies and direction of our LCDA. I urge you to be diligent, responsive, and accountable to the people who elected you, as you are their representatives in government,” she said.

She expressed gratitude to the leaders of her party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), the people, and her predecessor, Hon. Hammed Idowu Tijani, for their support. She assured that her administration would build on the foundation laid by her predecessor and expand on his landmarks to make Ojokoro a true land of prosperity.

The Chairman further emphasized that her administration would focus on delivering results, not promises.

After the oath of office was administered by the Council Legal Officer, Barr. Awotugase Adebimpe, the councilors proceeded to their chamber for their first sitting and elect their leaders, with the following councilors assuming key positions:

– Hon. Ipaye Usman Idowu (Ward F) – Leader of the House

– Hon. Adeyemi Babasola Adegbemi (Ward B) – Deputy Leader

– Hon. Bosun Fasasi (Ward A) – Majority Leader

– Hon. Taiwo Bolaji Taofik (Ward D) – Deputy Majority Leader

– Hon. Jolaosho Segun Benjamin (Ward G) – Chief Whip

– Hon. Shokunbi Keji Abiodun (Ward F) – Deputy Chief Whip

– Hon. Sanya Olusegun Elijah (Ward C) – Honourable Member

The event drew dignitaries from various walks of life, including political heavyweights, members of the House of Assembly, House of Representatives, traditional rulers, religious clerics, and heads of social bodies and organizations
