Promises more dividends of democracy
Determined
to improve the general well-being of the indigenes and dwellers of Ojokoro
local council development area, the council Chairman, Hon. Hammed ldowu .D.
Tijani has given accounts of his stewardship, while restating his commitment to
providing more dividends of democracy to the residents.
He stated this during the 2025 Pre-Budget Stakeholders consultative forum which took place at the council secretariat on Thursday 28, November 2024.
Hon HlD
Tijani stated that he has upheld the principles of justice, fairness, and
equitable distribution of dividends of democracy with equal transformation and
sustainable developments across the council area.
” Your
cooperation and unwavering support have been the bedrock of our success since
the beginning of this administration. It is your partnership that has inspired
us to deliver our promises and by God’s grace, we shall continue to consolidate
our developmental efforts in a way that will benefit every citizen of Ojokoro
local council development area.”
” Though the past years have been challenging and rewarding, through
hard work, teamwork, dedication and a shared commitment to progress,we have
achieved significant milestone in our infrastructure development.” he stated.
The
Council boss went on to highlight some of the projects recorded by his
administration which includes the construction of Wilson Agedo, construction of
Oyo Elegunde Street, rehabilitation of deplorable road at Ogumola Aloba road, Alagbado
and Fola falusi street Alaku, interlocking of road at lekan Adewunmi Alagbado,
rehabilitation of road at Olayitan mustapha close and construction of road
extension at Taiwo Adewole Street,Abule Egba.
Others are
construction of drainage on Adeola Adepegba, renovation of new Oko Oba primary
school ll building, construction of water scheme/borehole system at Shofolarin
Gberinmi Street, renovation of Kola Primary Health center, purchase of
ambulances for emergency services, provision of four more buses to boost
internal generated revenue drive, among others.
“To
further enhance security, we commenced the construction of a divisional office
for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps in Ajegunle, organized free
medical outreach on different medical issues including the distribution of eye
glasses and health checks, gave cash grants to over 600 residents in 2024 to
support small and medium scale enterprises and purchase 600 plots of land at
lboro to boost local agricultural products in order to ensure food security for
our farming residents”
“Let me assure you that within the remaining months left before the
expiration of my tenure in office, you will witness more dividends of democracy
through the provision of more economic empowerment and developmental projects
for all.” he submitted.
Investigator
news reports that the National youth council Ojokoro chapter led by its
Chairman, members of people living with disability, Artisans, members of
Nigeria drug law enforcement agency, Nigeria security and civil defense corps,
Nigeria Police, Christian Association of Nigeria, members of the south south
region, members of the lgbo speaking community, members of the hausa community
were all in attendance as they made their submission what they want the local
government to do for them come 2025 .
The youth
council requested that the council chairman should renovate their youth council
secretariat, provide bus for members of the youth council and provide tech
empowerment for the youths. He also commended the chairman for giving the
youths the platform to express their concerns, stating that he has been
supportive in terms of human capacity and investments.
Apostle
Ojo Bamidele, leader of people living with disabilities urge the chairman to
provide mini bus for the union and also provide business opportunities for its
members.
Head of
the Artisans in Ojokoro,Mrs Adepagba Biliques calls for empowerment for its
members, while the Chief Superintendent of Corps,Oluokun Victor Adekunle
requested for additional patrol vehicle for the agency so as to enhance
effective security.
While
Speaking to newsmen, Hon Tijani Hammed stated that the essence of the pre
budget preparation is an avenue where all stakeholders come to tell the
government where they need the impact of the local government so that the
chairman can prepare effectively in 2025 budget.
He
appreciated all stakeholders, market men and women, political leaders and party
members, royal fathers and chiefs, the Vice chairman and members of the
legislative council, management team and staff, community development committee
(CDC), youths and security agencies for their unwavering support towards his
administration, while appealing to the general public to ever remain as
partners in progress by paying their rates,levies and charges as at when due to
the designated banks so as to have more dividends of democracy cone next year.
Lending
his voice, the leader of the house,Hon Oyekunle Tunde Olalekan noted that the
chairman has performed excellent well as he is not resting on his oars.
“The
chairman has performed excellently well as legislatures, there is a projection
for the year 2024 as regard to the budget and we will attribute it more to the
effectiveness of the legislative in Ojokoro because we always keep the chairman
on his toe in our oversight functions ,but l must commend the chairman, he has
marvelously done well ” he said.
The leader
of the lgbo speaking community, Eze Charles Ukeje applauded the Executive
chairman for doing a great job in Ojokoro LCDA, stating that he is one man that
do not discriminate but rather accommodates everyone. I pray that the incoming
chairman would learn a lot from him because HID has left a lasting legacy as he
has changed and remodel the face of Ojokoro.
Alhaji
Dayumin Sanni, leader of the hausa community says that the council boss is a
detribalized Nigerian who ensure that everyone is attended to equally as he has
ensured that there is peace and unity in Ojokoro and that the non indigenes are
carried along in the affairs of the government.
