The Executive Chairman of Ojokoro LCDA, Hon. (Barr.) Rosiji Oluyemisi Adenike, on Friday, August 2025, attended the medical outreach for retirees held at Vetland Primary School, Old Abeokuta Road, Agege. The health initiative was organized by the Lagos State Government in collaboration with Health District I and Ojokoro LCDA, and powered by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Olufunmilayo Bankole.

The outreach provided a spectrum of services tailored to meet the healthcare needs of retirees, including: 

– Routine medical examinations 

– Free medications for hypertension and diabetes 

– Eye screening and provision of corrective glasses 

– Health education and counselling 

– Guided physical exercise

Hon. Rosiji, known for her promptness and people-oriented leadership, actively  joined the retirees in their daily fitness session, fully partaking in the exercise routine alongside the retirees of Ojokoro LCDA. Her presence was engaging, warm, and interactive.

She delivered a rousing address, acknowledging the efforts of the Lagos State Government in advancing accessible healthcare across the state. Emphasizing the dual impact of exercise on physical and mental wellness, she encouraged the retirees to adopt it as a lifestyle. She further cautioned against the dangers of self-medication and urged retirees to consult appropriate medical personnel when ill.

In her remarks, she prayed for strength, stable health, and enduring peace of mind for all retirees. She reiterated that her administration’s leadership style is one of attentiveness and action, rooted in shared experience and compassion.

Also present was the Education Secretary of Ifako-Ijaiye, Comrade Adeyemi Olamilekan, who encouraged the retirees to present their needs directly to the Executive Chairman, expressing confidence in her dedication to serving the people.

During the Q&A session, a retiree raised concern about elected officials failing to fulfil promises after elections. Hon. Rosiji responded candidly: “I know where the shoe pinches the most. I have walked in your shoes. Rest assured, this administration will not turn a deaf ear to your needs. We are here to serve.”

The event concluded with applause   as they appreciated Hon. Rosiji’s direct engagement and sincerity.
